Corte Madera town treasurer to retire

After fourty years, Corte Madera Town Treasurer George Warman is making retirement plans.

The longtime numbers guy isn’t set to retire until Jul 1, 2018, but to ease the transition, Town Manager Todd Cusimano put together a plan presented to the Town Council on Tue to hire and train a whole new director of finance before Warman hangs his hat.

“Warman has been the guardian of the town for the past 4 decades,” Cusimano said. “It’s not a simple transition.”

Warman, a 70-year-old San Mateo resident, has steadily held his position since Sat Oct 1 1977

Mayor Diane Furst and Councilman Jim Andrews were also assigned to a finance and auditing committee to work with Cusimano through the process.
